John, I re-installed from the CD ROM for the third time on my work NT
machine (K6-2, as we once were a subsidiary of AMD), and I do get that error
after changing the code as you have suggested. Here's the error message
part of the rhide editor now:

===================
Compiling: c:/charlie/programs/l3/conver.cpp
c:/djgpp/lang/cxx/iostream(6) Infile included from c:/djgpp/lang/iostream:6,
conver.cpp(8)                   from conver.cpp:8:
c:/djgpp/lang/cxx/iostream.h(31) Error: streambuf.h: No such file or
directory (ENOENT)
There were some errors
====================

This weekend, I'll try and install the CD version on my home machine, which
runs WIN95 on an Evergreen upgrade chip. I'll see how that works.

Thanks again for taking the time to look at my stuff and help out.

Best Regards, Kevin O'Dwyer

That might be one thing. Another couple of things you might check:

1. Is it giving you a EONENT error of some type
2.  try this:
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;

I'm away from my home computer where I have DJGPP set up, so I can't check
your program here. I can check it at home, though.
