That isn't necessary for everyone, and your mileage may vary.
Some people do this sort of thing in their Makefile instead:

OBJ01=myobj01.o myobj02.o myobj03.o myobj04.o
OBJ02=myobj05.o myobj06.o myobj07.o myobj08.o
OBJ03=myobj09.o myobj10.o myobj11.o myobj12.o

myprog.exe: myprog.lnk
    gcc $(LFLAGS) -omyprog.exe @myprog.lnk $(LIBRARIES)

myprog.lnk: $(OBJ01) $(OBJ02) $(OBJ03)
    @echo $(OBJ01) > $@
    @echo $(OBJ02) >> $@
    @echo $(OBJ03) >> $@
