Perhaps it would be beneficial to make DJGPP interoperate with these
programs better for the future?

How can you be so sure? I mean, does it really appear that there's no way
round the bug?

Hmmm, 65535 - does their database use 16-bits for the bug numbers?

Alternative answer: Find someone in development in Microsoft who cares and
ask them about it. If you do not know of such a person, tough luck.
