This is on our todo list for quite some time.  However, adding
internationalization support to the library is a lot of work, because
you have to support many different locales and languages, each one of
which uses the same 8-bit code for a different characters (and thus
its upper-case equivalent, if it exists, is different).  So this won't
happen without motivated individuals who are ready to sit down and get
their hands dirty coding this stuff.
