The most advisable method.

Cygwin is another quite(more?) popular alternative, Although Damian seems
to have some aversion to the large DLL ;) that has to be distributed with
programs compiled with it.

> o Ditch WoN'T 5 and install a GNU/Linux system.

This isn't as easy as it seems, DOSEmu still doesn't play the GCC game
well as everyone who has seen DJGPP's GCC frequently GPF when run under
Dosemu will agree.

And about RHIDE for Linux, could you please correct me if I am wrong but
wasn't there a problem that it needed root acesss to run ??
