A small question about this VF problem: wouldn't be possible to set once for all the name lengths to 8 on the C/C++ front-end ? With GNAT it works for years without problem or any setting (like LFN=) to do, under Win 9x, NT, DR-DOS etc. BTW GNAT has a successful algorithm to "crunch" the names - for OSes that may need it of course... ______________________________________________________ Gautier -- http://members.xoom.com/gdemont/gsoft.htm
