You need to load the hard disk cache system first.  GCC likes fast
hard disk access.

C:\>smartdrv

Type this once, and it will load a TSR into RAM.  This TSR
dramatically improves hard disk access time.  Then compile again:

C:\>gcc -Wall -O3 foo.c -o foo.exe
