Windows 2000 has problems with running nested DJGPP programs. This
means that you will probably be unable to build programs by running
the Make utility. Compilation from the command line does work. Since
Bash is a DJGPP program, you might have problems with nesting levels
more than one.

Another problem reported on Windows 2000 is that `touch' (from
Fileutils) sometimes fails.

My advice would be not to upgrade if you can.
