Hi,
when I compile the Allegro sources, these messages are
displayed as warnings (and not as errors). Try to edit your
makefile and remove the -Wall compiler switch, perhaps it
helps.
Concerning your sound problems:
Have you tried the setup.exe tool (in the allegro\setup
dir)?
Configure your sound card and copy the allegro.cfg file
(created by setup) to the dir with your problematic
application. If the program uses automatic sound hardware
detection, it looks up the .cfg file.
If you are using modern PCI soundcards (like SB Live), you
have to load an ISA card emulation driver (like "sbeinit"
on a SB Live) when you are in pure DOS mode. Note: In my
case (I have an SB Live), I can't hear any digital sound
(just midi music) in pure DOS (evreything works fine under
Window$), but that's the fault of Creative and their
sbeinit-driver.
