A while back, I tripped across an Allegro driver for Mesa 3.0.
It was written by Bernhard Tschirren and worked rather well.

Pieces of it exist in the 3.2 distribution, but they are badly broken.

So at any rate, I've patched the 3.0 driver to work with 3.2.

Its available at:
http://www.geocities.com/gk_2345/main-index.html
(There is a link to Bernhard's pages there as well)

This is in no way an improvement over Berhard's 3.0 driver, I just added
changed and missing files and such to get it to compile cleanly with
Mesa 3.2.

Installation and building are very simple and there are plenty of example
programs that come with Mesa to get you going. Needless to say you will
need a working Allegro 3.1 or higher to use this.

It contains a skeletal implementation of GLUT that will run most GL
programs,
but is lacking in many ways. (i.e. font support, menus, windows, etc.) I
imagine
it could be expanded, but I won't be the one doing the expanding.

This is pretty much unsupported, and I ask that if you have comments to
either post them to this list or to the email address on the web-page. If
you
further expand this driver, I would definately like to know. (As would
Berhard
I suspect.)

So for those of you who have wanted to use Mesa, this is your chance.

Happy hacking.
