I need to get a simple string from a barcode scanner on the serial line
(RS232 COM port)

What is the easy/bad/slow way? (SO is Win98)

I have other programs working with such devices, but they're connected to
the keyboard port and it is transparent to the software. Anybody knows a
program to simulate keyboard input from serial port input? I think it is a
good idea. If it is cheap, I possibly could buy it.

Thanks.
