Patches are welcome.

AllegroGL, on the other hand, is not slow.

And to run on _lots_ of different hardware and software
configurations:
 o DOS
 o Windows 9x's DOS emulation
 o Windows 9x DirectX
 o Windows NT DirectX
 o Linux fbcon, GGI, svgalib
o X Window System running on Linux, *BSD, and UNIX systems with
   several different instruction sets

The x86 version is the most optimized, of course.

I'm not a framerate wh0re; I'd give up a couple fps (not too many,
mind you) for portability and freedom.
