Add the following stuff to your autoexec.bat:
set PATH=3DC:\DJGPP\BIN;%PATH%
and
set DJGPP=3DC:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV
That should work. About the DOS thing, I really have no idea why, but if =
you email the creator of DJGPP (s)he might be able to tell you.

I recently bought the book "Teach Yourself C++ in 24 Hours" =
which included a copy
of your DJGPP compiler (GNU)=20
I installed it from the cd-rom as per instructions onto my =
computer , but i am having trouble
running it . When i run it through windows 98 it comes up with the =
error :-
Error in DJGPP installation
Enviroment VAriable DJGPP is not defined=20
When i run it through Dos the computer hangs up . Could you please =
tell me where i am going
wrong as i am very interested in learning C++=20
My computer is 550mhz , 128meg ram , 10 gig hard drive , =
running windows 98=20
