Ok... I'm gonna ask... does it work in 2000?

I installed it and had a few issues with the env variable but got it
eventually, but now when i go to compile a simple C++ file, it begins
compilations and the locks up.. hard.... no ctrl-alt-del... nothin'.....

has anyone gotten it to work in 2000?  has anyone had the same issues?
please help....
