You probably did not want to install that humongous zip file, it is the source code for GCC and is only required if you want to compile your own version of the compiler. AFAIK you can not do that in DOS because you would need support for long filenames. Check the Zip-Picker at http://www.delorie.com to see which zip files you need to compile C++ programs in DOS, download any that you don't already have and re-install from scratch. The readme.1st file has instructions for installation. The FAQ also has useful tips for running DJGPP in DOS. Post any problems you have here but please say the exact command line you used.
