I seem to recall a few scattered requests over the past 3-4 years for
such djgpp ``museum pieces'', but IMHO it hardly qualifies as a FAQ and
it may be simplest just to deal with these requests as they arise.

Yes, it probably would be wasteful to keep around ancient versions of
`tar' or `grep', but I think the originator of this thread recognized
that gcc2721 was special in respect of its small size and relative
stability.  gcc has grown by leaps and bounds since then.
