Why can't the some of the examples that use the soundcard work properly on
my system (I'm talking about ex17.c which comes with Allegro examples). It
loads the .wav file, displays my sound driver, plays the .wav file (but i
hear nothing from my speakers).

I tried ex16.c with a .mid file, and it works with my soundcard (i can
actually listen to the music being played).
