Agreed, this isn't the way it's supposed to work.  Non-subscribers can
post to news via the mailing list.

Sending multiple messages won't help, because the gateway watches the
message-id's.  If it sees the same message-id twice, it ignores the
repeat.  This is one of about four ways it prevents loops.

The mailing list is archived at http://www.delorie.com/archives/
You should be able to see all the messages that the list server passed
stored there.

Yup, but email them to me personally in case I miss the post on the
mailing list (different mail bins).  Please take this off the main
list, but you may cc me on further discussion about the mechanics of
the gateway itself.
