Im unable to get libgrx23 to operate in anything but the 640x480 video
modes. Ive got a VESA 2 Intel 740 card, and have been using rhgdb to step /
trace the operation of setmode and setdriver.

In the middle of setmode, the key variables ( w and h ) don't seem to be
being set properly - and when they are passed to the setmode routine, the
wrong values are passed.

Ive recompiled portions of the library with NO optimzations ( -o0 ) to no
avail - The original make files have -O6 - which doesn't appear in the GCC
documentation - what does it mean ?

Im using GCC v2.8.1 - Should I get a newer version ?, or is there a way to
know what version was used when the code was developed ?

I assume that the VESA 2 extensions in this code were tested by the
originator ?

HELP

Thanks in advance
Dave
