Me too.  Especially since I cannot even find the message you are
citing anywhere in the Bash sources.  I even searched the binary of
Bash 2.03 for such a string, but couldn't find it.

Are you sure you are actually running the DJGPP version of Bash?
Perhaps there's another Bash binary sitting on your PATH and doing all
this trouble.

Or perhaps you didn't cite the exact error message text, in which case
please post _exactly_ what it says.
