cdrecord on Linux should do it easily ;) For Windows - Easy CD Pro '95,
Easy CD Creator, Nero, probably Gear too. I'd be surprised if there was a
CD-R program that didn't write ISO images, to be honest.

Yes, but I think it does DirectX 3. It's good enough to play Carmageddon
in a window on my computer at roughly the same speed as on Windows. That's
pretty freaky if you ask me, but also pretty cool. I think it emulates
OpenGL too, if you have Mesa installed, but GLQuake (for Windows) just
crashed for me.
