I agree that the Red Hat installer is just as easy to use as the Win9x
installer, but it all depends on what you start with. Most hard-drives these
days come preformatted as FAT32 (other than OEM's). So you need to setup some
partitions and stuff. Also, the installer is very friendly, but if I want to
add/remove OS packages, well, I never figured out how to do that other than
starting from scratch again. And there are some weird issues with that
installer and my video card: when it attempts to choose the 'best' resolution,
it selects 1024x768x32bit. I wanted to use 800x600x32bit, but that wasn't on
the list of options. In fact the only way to get a 32bit mode was to use the
'autodeciding' mode. And any time I wanted to change the resolution, I had to
reinstall...

I've been using M$ OS's for > 5 years, and I've never had a booting issue.
I installed RH Linux for a couple of weeks in the summer and about once every 3
days, LILO would only print "LI", then halt the machine. After it did that
once, it would never boot correctly again until I reinstalled Linux.

There is, under the properties for the shortcut, there is a section where
you can disable most of the windows keys including Alt+Tab.

Isn't there a DOS loader for Linux? Couldn't you add that as a bootmenu
option and then avoid LILO altogether?
