Yes I too have to still see a driver which has this feature. Isn't it
strange that AFAIK no video card company has written a driver with this
capability.

Is it because there are problems for the hardware driver to acess VESA due
to a windoze related "feature" or is it that the video card companies are
just not interested in adding this functionality?

What makes matters worse IMHO is that certain hardware has a software
dependency. For example there are certain modems (winmodems), printers
which need windoze to run.

I agree but please note that the number is increasing quite rapidly. And
IMHO Linux is seriously challenging M$'s OS dominance.

I don't know whether this referred to me but just in case.. I am not
frantic and I haven't lost my focus either. I was merely stating facts
which I think are true enough. And I welcome criticism of my views by
anyone as you learn something new every day.
