Forgive the off-topic intrusion, but I liked the news report a couple
of years ago which told of some scam where the BIOS for a
particular make of PC was set to print a good healthy cache size
even though the machine didn't have the hardware!
I wonder if there is a similar scam with memory... ?

Mungo (newbie to djgpp; installed the code; tried a simple program;
got over the 8.3 filename problem; noddy program now compiles but
immediately segvs; waiting to get some free time to debug what my
problem is; could sure use a glossary and/or tutorial to understand
what all the acronyms are; will post details soon if I can't fix the
damn thing myself.)
