No, it doesn't seem to be a problem with the directory name. With
Windows 98, here's what I get:

C:\c++>gxx -o test.exe test.cpp

C:\c++>strip -v test.exe
copy from test.exe(coff-go32-exe) to staaaaaa(coff-go32-exe)

C:\c++>strip --version
GNU strip 2.8.1

I'll try renaming the directory on my Windows 2000 computer on
Monday, and report the results.
