Perhaps you could then make it more convenient and submit the changes to the
package maintainer? This is how Free Software gets better.
What do you find inconvenient, anyway? Perhaps you simply missed some of the
more powerful feature of Info (did you read the Info docs, or the short
introduction to Info in README.1ST?).

I mentioned several other possibilities in my original message (see the
citation below), including a section in the FAQ that tells you more details.

Not from the Info files, but from their Texinfo sources. The makeinfo
program from the txi40b.zip package can do that.
