This can only happen if your Makefile somehow forces COMMAND.COM to be
invoked to run DJECHO.

Alternatively, perhaps you still have something in the Makefile that
overwrites the file created by DJECHO.

So please post the Makefile.

Btw, the truncated line you posted is only 113 characters, and the full
original line is also shorter than 126-character limit.  So I'm not even sure
the problem is the limit imposed by COMMAND.COM.
