I am once again having problems with GNU make. Now it says "***
multiple target patterns. Stop." for a line that reads

$(DOCTARGETFILE): $(DOCSOURCEFILES)

where $(DOCTARGETFILE) is defined before this rule (or indeed any
rules) and expands to

../docs/allclasses-frame.html

This does not contain the pattern character '%' at all, let alone
multiple times. Please inform me immediately of a workaround for the
bug I seem to have stumbled upon.
