Hi to all,

I've learned "C" prog. using an old version (1992) of Borland's Turbo C++
3.0.
It was relatively easy using this program and it's interface.
Now I have to learn C++ quickly for an upcoming class. I bought a "learn
C++" book which has DJGPP in a cdrom. I installed it but I'm having trouble
with it. No stubefy.exe trouble here, just a steep learning curve for me.
Furthermore, I would rather not have to write a program, then go to the
command line compile it and then run it while using DJGPP, where Turbo C++
did it all almost simultaneously. To make this clear, I dont' mean that I do
not want to write, compile and execute the programs, but I do not want to
write a program then exit the editor, then compile it at the command line,
then look for the location of the executed file and then type it to execute
it.
In addition, there are two interfaces DJGPP, if I understand correctly,
Emacs and RHIDE, which resemble Turbo's interface. The class I'll be taking
soon pushes for the use of Emacs, whose functions are not quite clear to me.
Therefore, I would like to write , compile and run programs using DJGPP and
Emacs while avoiding the command line if possible. I'll be running these
within Win95.
Is it possible to achieve these objectives, are these objectives reasonable
and if so, can anyone give me detailed instructions on how to achieve the
process?

Thanks,

Vlad
