Thanks for the batch file Antti. At first, the source was compiling with
loads of problems, but I downloaded it again, unzipped it and it compiled
perfectly - I must have fiddled with the code!

I do have a problem, though. When I try to run quake.exe, the following
comes up:


Quake v1.09
Loaded 1 Mb image
Allocated -34 Mb data
malloc'd: -36724740
Error: Only -35.0 megs of memory available, can't execute game


Can you suggest why this is so? I have got 128 Mb ram, so I don't expect
things to run out of memory.
I have also tried the new exe file in the Quake folder, along with all the
data files etc. but the message still appears.
