In fact kryotech (http://www.kryotech.com) sells machines equiped with an AMD
Athlon running at 1GHz (is nominally an 800MHz CPU overcloacked and cooled with
a -40 C refrigerator ;-)

Hmmm.... Intel have the IA64 to compete, I don't know.

BTW Athlon is a *9* parallel units and a very good RISC core plus the EV6 Alpha
Bus, so don't get too impressed if an Athlon can really beat an Alpha.
