If you download Allegro from zip picker, and install and compile the allegro
libraries,
included is wav/voc file player also it's sound card independent, you can
specify or
detect the sound card you wish to play to.  Allegro also is a game library
which has many cool features for writing games. I.e. 3D, Load BMP/PCX files,
Joystick/Mouse routines, GUI Windowing system etc.   Hope that helps ..
