The message is self-explanatory: use either -c or -o, but not both.
The meaning of each is explained in the compiler docs (from the
command line, type "info gcc invoking overall" and read there).

The file README.1ST in the distribution gives some examples of correct
compilation command lines.

If you cannot figure this out, post the exact command line you used to
invoke the compiler.
