IMHO, this is bad advice.  One shouldn't use a header from another
compiler, since the headers are private to the library implementation.

A better way would be to rewrite the program so that it doesn't use
non-standard headers.  In particular, sys/param.h should not be used
by anything but legacy Unix software.  Every symbol it defines has a
modern and portable replacement.
