Try disable().

But please note that in any environment other than plain vanilla DOS
this might not disable the interrupts, only stop them from being
passed to the calling program (if the environment virtualizes the
interrupts).  So I still think this is too dangerous for production
code that should run on any system.  The last thing a user would
expect from a SYSINFO-style program is that it crashes or scrogs their
hard disk...
