hey thanks for those tips- I don't see many DOS tutors on the web. Just
Understanding and Getting Around in DOS at
http://w3.aces.uiuc.edu/AIM/CCSOcourses/DOS-rev.html

I guess a book is the way to go. Also thank you Eli Zaretskii
<eliz AT is DOT elta DOT co DOT il>
for all your patient explainations. I got the program compiled, linked and it
now works.

Does anyone out there want to buy a program that says " hello world " when ever
you start it up ?

Also, I'm still curious about one thing: here is what the message box in RHIDE
says

Compiling: hello.cpp
Bad command or file name
no errors
Creating: hello2.exe
no errors

If there are no errors, why does it say
Bad command or file name
in the second line ? .
