FWIW, I don't like such ``solutions''.  There's some problem lurking
in your code, waiting to bite you again.  It is better to debug it now
than to sweep it under the carpet.  How do you know that the problem,
whatever it is, doesn't introduce a subtle bug into your program that
you simply don't see?

Feel free to post more details, if you want to pursue this further.
