I just tried the pointer from the FAQ to version 2.3 of PDCurses, 
ftp://ftp.lightlink.com/pub/hessling/PDCurses/, and it works just fine.

Version 2.2 is on SimTel, in the v2tk subdirectory of the DJGPP sites.
