I don't know which version of the FAQ you are reading but section one
titled "If You Are In a Hurry" says to use gxx for C++, as does the
readme.1st file that you should have as part of your installation.

If you are intending to use DJGPP as a teaching tool then it strongly
recommended that you read both these files as you will probably be
asked many of these questions yourself! :)

Also, it would definitely be worth getting gcc 2.95 as this has better
support for the latest C++ standard. You don't need any special
installation program. Use the ZIP picker at www.delorie.com then
follow the instructions in readme.1st to install.

If you want to start your students out on the right track then make
them compile with -Wall -W -ansi.

Note: with 2.95 you should use gpp not gxx.
