Yes, unzip386.exe aborts on NT.

Bad idea.  Your installation will never work if you unzip with Winzip
on NT.

This is the first sign of the trouble due to use of Winzip: the linker
looks for a file libstdcxx.a, which exceeds the 8+3 limits of DOS file
names, and doesn't find it.

Get the DOS version of pkunzip from SimTel and reinstall everything.
