go to www.planetquake.com/qdevels and there are a bunch of tutorials there
for compiling q2 source under msvc, borland and gcc (and one more, i
forget).  there is a package you can get from that site somewhere that will
give you gcc, q2 source and a btach file that will compile it for you so you
don;t have to worry about command line stuff.  is you add files, you can
just change the batch file (wicked easy).  qdevels also has a HUGE ammount
of tutorial to do a lot of stuff, but i don't think it gets updated all that
often.  plus they have stuff on basic DLL stuff too.  very helpful site is
you are starting out with q2 editing.
