I want to be able to use the file selector to pick a working directory;
is this possible?

According to the docs file_select() should return 1 when you click on
OK, but this will only happen for me if a file in the directory is
selected, so I have to use this as a not very satisfactory workaround or
always assume that the user doesn't want to cancel the whole operation.

TIA
