Ahum! Why are you posting this here? Shouldn't a linux newsgroup be
more suitable?

If you are going to reply do so privately, not on this list/newsgroup.

Anyway, when do you get that message? At boot up or when "insmod"ing
the 3c509 driver?

If it's at the time of an insmod, then you should add
"io=SOME_ADDRESS" after the module name, where SOME_ADDRESS is the
address the card is at.
