The patches I made were used instead of, not in addition to, the
originals. However, I have not tested these with the 1.5 version of
RSXNTDJ, and do not plan to.

No, they are useless to you. You need to create wrapper libxxxxx.a files
from the existing .dll's on your system using the import utility.

I never really figured it out, but I would say roughly 5%. The tools and
libraries are of little use, and many of the headers are not of
interest. MS threw everything that wasn't nailed down into the package.

As a possible alternative: check out the MingW32 site, and look for
Anders Norlander's header package. These are cleanroom versions of the
headers, and do not require patching. I have never tried to get them to
work with RSXNTDJ, but I believe it would be possible. I would urge you
to look at the entire MingW32 package while you are there. I feel it is
a much easier path to Windows programming with a GNU compiler. The docs
do not have anywhere the maturity and depth of the DJGPP set, and tools
are not part of the MingW32 distro, but there is more active work there
than RSXNTDJ's somewhat spotty history.
