Another alternative is to look into Tcl/Tk

I don't know if there is a DJGPP port, but if not you might consider
the Cygnus port of gcc etc.  It comes with a pre-built tcl/tk.  I've
been using it to create a GUI that runs on several different flavors
of unix and under Win95...  With no changes to the code!
