I'd like to thank anyone who responded to my posts about my graphical
level editor using Allegro.  The problem was in using Allegro's blit
function to copy a rather lage bitmap(336 x 208 or 328 x 216) from one
area of the screen to another.  I found that it works much faster
rebuild the screen using many small blits rather than one large one.

The quest for knowledge goes on.
