Are you syncing with the vertical sync? Is your screen-blit just that,
ie, copy a buffer to the screen and basically nothing else? If it's
flickering it means you're taking too long from the vsync, to
re-enabling the mouse pointer. It has to be done before the screen has
started drawing.

Are you using a double-buffer or something, how are you doing the
screen?
