Sorry I haven't anything useful to add to this thread, but another question:
What's the reason for two kinds of errors you get from windows or under dos
from djgpp compiled binaries?
The more frequent one is the classical gpf: The program crashes and I get the
usual traceback. This seems to be equivalent to to the windows gpf, where I
can get the register values, when I click on details.
The other one, that I encounter very rarely, is a gpf, too, but with very
little information: Windows will tell me to restart my computer and will only
give me a single adress. I managed two write some crappy code that would
produce exactly this, yesterday. So I rebooted, but not to windows but to good
old dos. I ran the program again, and it wouldn't give me a traceback either.
Just an adress. My error was to access some memory, that I had no right to
access, the usual stupid error I make every now and then.
Is there an explanation for this? Especially for the djgpp part, of course.
