Does this work from the command line?  Did you try?  If not, please
try and tell if it works.  If it doesn't work, please post the exact
command line used to link against the emulator and the exact error
messages emitted by the compiler/linker.

Btw, don't use -lwmemu, it was compiled by an old version of DJGPP and
will get you undefined references.
