Eli: Is GNU pronounced GEE-new or guh-NEW? MIT AI Memo 554 said EMACS is "an advanced, self-documenting, customizable, extensible real-time display editor" What does "real-time" mean? Can you name an editor that is NOT real-time? Perhaps EDLIN? or any line editor? Technically the editing is not done until the file is saved, so how can even EMACS be called real-time? Ralph
